ultra-reliable low-latency communications

nice to see you online

the mobile device is a continuously powered connection terminal and modem

if you do not own a mobile device or do not have a reliable data provider, there is a risk you will become offline when logging off from your current browser. refer to priority 1

your mobile device must be reliable to enable uninterrupted perpetual connectivity

your mobile device also serves as an access point to connectivity for other devices

familiarize yourself with the weight, feel, and functions of your mobile device

learn what it feels like for your mobile device to be in your pocket or bag

know the feeling of absense of your mobile device when it is charging

become intuitively aware of three states of your primary mobile device: mobile device in hand. mobile device in pocket or bag close to body. mobile device charging. avoid any other state

your mobile device allows you to move freely in your designated box, allowing you to fulfil personal hygiene functions, consume sustenance, and exit your designated box into gritscape without losing connectivity, provided a continuous source of data and charge

there is nothing to fear, as long as you are connected

use your mobile device to navigate in gritscape without losing connectivity by entrusting a data provider to provide network access and ensuring you have a continuous source of charge through powerbanks and/or a concrete plan to source additional charge or transcend data limit if needed

unlimited data is beneficial, but there are problems with how this is currently achieved. data providers may impose boundaries on connection speed, or may restrict network access after reaching a threshold data limit. there are also satellite coverage limitations which will impede perpetual connectivity if you breach the defined geographical boundaries while navigating gritscape

our relationship with data providers is highly dependent. take time to select a data provider you can trust. avoid long-term contractual commitment to a data provider. a physical sim card remains more versatile than an esim

data providers will change for the better. expect expansions to boundaries for coverage, data limits, and connection speed as additional low earth orbit satellite infrastructure becomes available. expect additional monetary cost

ensure that your data plan will work in your designated box with coverage for anywhere you plan to navigate through gritscape and that you will never be cut off from connectivity by a data limit. slow connection speed is better than lost connection

data providers may offer gprs/edge network, 3g, 4g/lte, or 5g network access depending on coverage available in your local area. if a higher connection speed or network access frequency is available in local coverage than what is experienced on your mobile device, it is important to identify your bottleneck - is it your mobile device, data provider, data limit, or coverage?

portable satellite routers such as the iridium go claim the ability to ensure at least limited connectivity at high data provider cost to avoid the experience of lost connection. the connection speed can be extraordinarily low, slower than gprs/edge, and it can require a lot of optimization to use effectively, operating at around 2.4kb/s

perpetual connectivity is comodified and often expensive, but connectivity also enables routes of monetary gain that would otherwise be unachievable. connectivity can be obtained without monetary cost to some extent through data capitalism, involving esims that allow users to earn data for regular use through engaging with advertisements, which can be spoofed, but not reliably

taking the time to safeguard your access to perpetual connectivity will enable you to interact and explore with others online in a more intimate and meaningful way

it is worth your time to make sure you will not lose connection
